I. Ambiguous

Definition: Ambiguity is when something has several possible meanings or interpretations. When

something is ambiguous it is not concrete or definite, and it is up to interpretation and is often taken out

of context. People use this word when someone explains something that is not clear or decisive. Ambiguity

is a common tactic used in politics, as politicians will say something that sounds very intelligent, but really is

extremely unclear and has different meaning because either they do not want the audience to understand or

they may not know themselves what they plan to do.

Examples: • “The bark was painful.” (Tree bark or dog bark?)

• “We saw her duck.” (Did she duck or is it an actual duck)

If it is one way then why is it pointing two different directions? (very uncertain)
